Dosbox problem

I'm trying to play Ultimate Doom and Doom II on my Windows 10 PC.

When I try to run it I get the following error message:

doxbox.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

Any ideas how to get around this?

Use a source port.

There were a Steam Update long time ago, that screwed games that use DosBox up, I heard there is a solution about fixing it, but it doesnt always work.

TL;DR version:

Open "dosbox.conf" with a text editor, change "output=" to either OpenGL or DirectDraw, and turn off double buffering by setting "fulldouble=" to False. You might want to download the newest official build of DOSBox and replace the outdated one Steam uses. GOG release doesn't have anywhere near the idiotic set-up decisions as the Steam release.
