But Ultimate Thumbnail Doom is the best, you're reaaally missing out q:
Haha.
Kind of thinking of buing it. Sneaky of them putting old Doom maps in Doom 2016; very good advertising. I had forgotten it looked so playable.
I tried alt+enter, and it seemed like it tried to go full screen, but then it'd revert back to the small window. Doom 1 is in what I'd guess is 640x480, which is an annoying, but livable screen size. Doom 2, on the other hand, is half whatever Doom is, so probably 320x240, and so that one is just undoably small on a 1080 display.
Also, they're both emulating the Ad-Lib version of the soundtrack. While I'm a fan of FM in video games at large, most Ad-Lib soundtracks in my opinion, and definitely the Ad-Lib renditions of Doom are just not very good. Is there any way to configure the DOSBOX emulator instance to emulate the MIDI soundtrack instead?
Full-screen and MIDI and I'm good! :-)
Thanks!
As for the soundtrack - I haven't played vanilla Doom in a long time, so I'm not sure if you can configure that. I use a source port, specifically GZDoom, and replaced Dosbox with it. GZDoom fixes tons of bugs and issues with Doom, plus it adds tons of other features, such as ability to jump, crouch, freelook... and you can play tons of mods that are unplayable otherwise.
If you're interested, you can download it from here: http://gzdoom.drdteam.org/

This is just episode one (Shareware), unless you have legit DOOM and copy the IWAD into the PrBoom folder. No plasma rifle or BFG9000 in shareware either.
fullscreen=
it will likely be set to "original", change it to "desktop" and it should fit the native resoltuion of your display. You might also want to look for these and make the following changes (highlighted in bold):
output=openglnb or opengl ← better compatibility than "surface"
fulldouble=false ← SUPER important and the cause of the game locking up in DOSBox in fullscreen
aspect=true ← Also important for correct aspect-ratio
scaler=normal2x or normal3x ← for Windowed mode when using "windowed=original"
Do we know of any way to change the emulation support from Ad-Lib to MIDI?
Thanks!

Thank you again! I actually tried this last night (only with your earlier "fulldouble=true" advice) and it worked! No crashes, and the Ad-Lib OST is actually starting to grow on me again. :-)
However, when I tried making the same tweaks to Doom2 and Final Doom via their respective config files, the hack did not work, and they were still opening in their very small windows.
Besides my turning "fulldouble" to false, are there any tricks you can suggest to get those two rolling?
Thanks! :-)
When I did this it worked, only problem is that my hud is missing and I think part of the screen is cut off, not badly enough that I can't play the game but it's kinda annoying cuz I don't have a hud. Any ideas on how I could fix this?
