Interesting mod. I am personally fine with the sprites but I always found voxels to be interesting. :)

At least it looks miles better than most other projects that tried to bring 3D stuff into the game.

This is a pretty cool mod. Had some issues with it, though. Couldn't run it because I was using an older version of GZdoom. Models look great.

Looks pretty cool, I wonder if they'll do the weapon sprites themselves aside from the pickups.

That would be completely pointless.

How so?

Well, given how weapons are being centered when fired in GZDoom unlike in vanilla Doom, all the frames of voxels would look identical to how you see the spites now. Only the weapon bobbing animation would look different.

What if it allowed animators to create smoother 3D skeletal animations for the weapons as well as for the monsters themselves? That would be really cool to see.

Well there’s a weapon sway which will give a 3D effect (with a minor offset) and some guns do have animations that would make it look interesting.

Wouldn’t change a whole lot but I wouldn’t say pointless.

That’s not easy to do with voxels. Well, not easy to do without it looking a bit silly.

Aren't they rendered as polygons in GZDoom?

Does this work with the Steam version? Forgive my ignorance, I'm not much of a modder.

Nope, the Voxel mod only works with GZDoom using the original Doom wad.

I’m more concerned about how modern animation would stick out like a sore thumb in contrast to voxels.

Maybe you like that look IDK, but I always found it a bit silly.
