Now i get an error saying "The ordinal 2 could not be located in the dynamic link library (insert directory to doomlnch.dll here)" Followed by the message "Unable to initialize "doomlnch.dll"

He'll need to use the Direct3D stuff that comes with the Dgvoodoo package. This port is some of the very first DirectX stuff. Infact Gaben himself helped developed it which helped Windows 95 gain some traction on the market. A lot of DirectX legacy code has been gutted in later versions of Windows which is why it doesn't work natively like it used to.
I recommend OP find some way to lock the aspect ratio to 4:3 for the "original experience" since it might look ugly af being stretched to wide screens.
