This changes the soundtrack to a much more fitting one, adds more gore and lighting effects, allows you to look up, adds Berserk mode finishers and a bunch of other improvements
The big differences come in improved gameplay and added mechanics from Doom 2016
To be honest, without doing some major digging about this prototype, it is impossible to call which game inspired the other.
EDIT: According to the Doom wiki. Development of that prototype completely restarted in 2011. It is quite possible that the glory kills are part of a much later version of said prototype.
EDIT 2: I don't have time to dig deeper for now. Will update once I found something of value.
