For Ultimate Doom theres Doom the way ID did, No End in Sight and Lunar Catastrophe.
For Doom 2 theres Hellbound, Avactor (does not work well with BD), A.L.T, and Lost Civilization.
Sound Caulking[www.doomworld.com]
The high resolution Doom sound effects pack[www.perkristian.net]
A metal soundtrack:
Doom Metal Soundtrack Mod - Volume 4
or (choose one):
Doom Metal Soundtrack Mod - Volume 5
This is another mod that I use with most wads (that have vanilla demons) nowadays:
Smooth Doom[forum.zdoom.org]
or (choose one):
Smooth Doom: Brightmapped Edition[www.doomworld.com]
I personally don't use any texture filtering in D1/D2, but I really like hi-res weapons:
Original Doom Hi-res weapons[forum.zdoom.org]
or if you are going to use Smooth Doom:
Hi-res Smooth Doom Weapons[forum.zdoom.org]
Here is yet another mod that I use in conjunction with most other mods/wads:
Sprite Shadows[forum.zdoom.org]
A nice blood mod that will work with almost everything:
Nash's Gore Mod[forum.zdoom.org]
(check the attachments for a patch to make Cacodemons and Barons/Hellknights have coloured blood; if you are going to use Smooth Doom, open nashgore.pk3 and add
to bludtype.txt; I also delete nbl1a0.png, nbl1b0.png, nbl1c0.png, nbl1d0.png, nbl1e0.png, nbl1f0.png, nbl2a0.png, nbl2b0.png, nbl2c0.png, nbl2d0.png from nashgore.pk3\sprites\blood\ because otherwise blood sprites completely cover enemy sprites when you shoot them and it looks meh imo).
An awesome megawad that I recommend every time I have a chance to recommend it:
Valiant[www.doomworld.com]
or if you want to play it with Brutal Doom/Smooth Doom/whatever download this version instead:
Valiant: Vaccinated Edition[www.doomworld.com]
An already mentioned Lost Civilization megawad is also very good:
Lost Civilization[www.doomworld.com]
Here is a nice map pack for Brutal Doom:
Hell on Earth map pack
Here is a cool mod that converts all Doom levels into one long level with new secrets and stuff:
DOOM:ONE
I would start with these mods.
https://www.youtube.com/user/ICARUSLIV3S this guy reviews doom mods
I've recently been playing DOOM EXP and it's pretty neat, basically it's a EXP mod but with a DOOM Eternal look/feel, even has the crucible as a weapon to use.
If you want a crazier version of Brutal DOOM check out Project Brutality, it takes what Brutal DOOM does and cranks it up even further with even more things to mess around with.
Also if you want a DOOM 4 experience try out DOOM 4 Vanilla or Embers Of Armageddon.
https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=53867 baron mod

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy3Hy7NzQ5M
colourful hell tiers enemies into ur basic rpg white green yellow oragne purple rarity variants with ever accerelating enemy variants and more powerfull the enemy is more rewards you reap from them
https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=47980
tilt plus adds movement based camera swaying to increase the sense of heft and power
https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=55413
