My ranking of doom engine games (that i have played) from worst to best

9: Castlevania, simon's destiny
8: Hexen (just not my type of game, im not good at puzzles)
7: freedoom 1
6: freedoom 2
5: chex quest
4: the adventures of square
3: srb2
2: doom 2
1 : ultimate doom

(if i missed a game you like it's because i haven't played it, and i'm only counting IWADS)

You might wanna check out Action Doom 2, if you want another fan game made in the Doom engine.

Theres also Heretic and Strife if you want a commercial game.

thnx, i got hexen when it was still freeware and i didn't enjoy it, is heretic more like the classic doom games?

Yes, its much closer to Doom in terms of gameplay. There also arent any of the cryptic puzzles from Hexen in it.

i've got the heretic/hexen/hexendd/hexen2 bundle on steam, heretic is good and i'm warming up to hexen more
