Is it possible to play continuously through chapters?

I'm lovin' this game so far, and have already defeated the Cyberdemon (Plasma gun spam, then Rocket Duel)(Kinda new though, so I only played on Not too Rough I think, the second easiest difficulty unfortunately). However, it gets frustrating when you can't carry over your stuff one chapter into the other. I had a pistol start to Inferno because of this, and at Hurt Me Plenty, it bites me just a bit too much. So is it possible to continuously play the following chapter after finishing the previous one without having to play a new game every time?

Unfortunately (or from what I know) you can't carry your stuff but you can techincally use cheats to gain items or teleport to a certain level if you want. . Like let's say typing IDCLEV## (where the first # is episode number and the second # is map number) can teleport you to any level and/or typing IDFA gives you all weapons and full ammo . But you know that's cheating .
