Project Brutality is sort of a mod of Brutal Doom.
So I would suggest start off and try Brutal Doom first, to get a feel for it.
Then load up Project Brutality so you can see the differences and changes for yourself.
They are complimentary and playing both will let you know which is your preference.
Both mods are well put together and worth the effort.
I think there is a video describing what are the difference.
Project Brutality is arguably doing 'too much' beyond Brutal Doom's vision. It's a bit like Project Brutality is trying to be Eternal Doom in Brutal Doom's skin. On a technical level Project Brutality is more complex and 'does more things', but most of it that can't be found or can't be done in Brutal Doom isn't quite "necessary".
What Brutal Doom accomplished was to retain enough of the originals while adding on top of it. But Project Brutality is pretty much eliminating what the originals were and forcing steroids down Brutal Doom's throat. They are two beasts, so in the end try them both.
I just prefer the 'simpler' approach of Brutal Doom (and by "simpler" I mean in comparison to Project Brutality, not in comparison to the original games).
I can fully understand what you mean. Doom is meant to be Fast Pace, Simple, Straight Forward and just blast every ♥♥♥♥ you see within seconds and just move on and feel Badass about it....
This is why I'm not feeling so good about Doom Eternal. Especially what I'm seeing on Doom Eternal, my friends told me you must specifically aim for weak points on the demons ???
Also I'm not sure if he was mistaken, he said the Beserker Rage isn't as powerful as before.
Since there are weak points you must aim, you can't just one hit obliterate the demons.
If those all are true, that kinda sucks...people can talk ♥♥♥♥ about how I'm still living in the nostalgic past....they can go ♥♥♥♥ themselves.
Just for the record, I started playing Quake not Doom. My first Doom was Doom 3.
So how is it I'm " living in my nostalgic past "
I can understand people who prefer Doom Eternal / 2016 but you don't see me talking ♥♥♥♥ on their preference of Doom.
The modder of Brutal Doom did an interview explained really well why he dislike the new Doom.
If you want a better version of Project Brutality, play DOOM 2016 or Eternal Doom.
