Motion sickness with DOOM and DOOM-like games (and also with pre and early 2000s FPS such as Half-Life)
Title.
I'd really want a solution (if possible), like a mod or something.
I have no clue what is causing the sickness to trigger, can be lighting, the weird movement the character does when you walk/ run (like a bobble head), no crosshair, and so on...
Thanks!

I really want to play those games, you can't imagine how much.
Might be that the FOV is too low for you.

Thanks! Will try on Duke Nukem 3D since it is the only DOOM-like game that I own (I tend to get a refund for the others that make me sick)

It's the fov. Change it to a higher value. You'll have to use a thoufh. port to change it though.

Suck it up and become immune, you're weak.

Thanks, will try when I'll buy a DOOM game since Duke Nukem 3D doesn't have a slider...

What happens is that your eyes don't like the fact that there are 2D Moving Objects in a 3D Environment. It takes a little bit to get used to, and while at the beginning I do remember those headaches, if you stick with it.... they'll go away.

I tried to "stick with it" years ago but I kept getting sick for a good 3-5 days each time, ain't got time for that...

Looks like you need to stick with modern FPS then. And you probably shouldn't go anywhere near VR.

Yeah but a lot of them suck... Surprinsigly Playstation VR didn't give me any motion sickness, that is, I was sitting.

Have you tried GZDOOM with some texture mods installed.

Nope, not at all, would it change anything?
