who are the best 4 characters to team up?

The game is designed to force you to level up pretty much every character that you acquire.
The "best" is subjective. The team I use is Morgan, Tristan, Kay and Sigrun. Kay you start with and is a Rare, the other three are legendary.

The starter team is Arthur, Hector, Kay and Morgan. Based on the huge number of variations in skills, gear sets, enhancements and a dozen other factors it's pretty hard to pinpoint which is "best"

It really depends on what you have, why not, you list them out here, for the suggestion?

The common one, I guess, should be Morgan, Tristan, Kay and a healer.
And it's weird that you should ignore K Arthur, till you progress into game for certain dungeon, you will need all sorts of heroes (you can access).

TBH, just watch the youtube videos for this best heroes... you will find out, that you need at least 8 heroes to support your progressing play.
