This is an incredible game. I am so happy I picked it up. The music fits the encounters perfectly.

I've truly enjoyed my time with this game, major props to the developer, what an achievement.

-- Arcade Perfection --
The thing I love about going through lesser known games, is finding gems like this. Savant Ascent has some of the tightest, funnest arcade gameplay I’ve ever seen. Firing magic, using the shotgun-like special blasts, chaining enemies and rolling/jumping around the platforms feels so frenetic and powerful. The sound design is perfect. It really holds everything together as you blast things apart.
Savant Ascent is definitely one of those games where you HAVE to replay it once you’ve unlocked all your abilities. It makes you feel so powerful to go through everything again with a full arsenal and better understanding of the game. The final boss especially is so fun in how they really test your knowledge of your kit.

-- Perfect Pixels --
And tying everything together is the masterfully done, colourful pixel art. Every character and enemy has a great design. I especially love the main character with his white mask and flowing cloak.

-- Minor Improvements --
There’s only two minor areas of improvement: One is this glitch where if you start the game, the sound effects won’t be audible until you go into the audio settings and move the bar.
The other is Steam Deck functionality. Savant Ascent tends to stutter on the Deck, and it would be nice to have it fully functional for portable play (this is just a personal thing of course).

Overall I highly recommend Savant Ascent, especially for the price it’s at. I’m looking forward to the future updates.

This game is amazing! Played it a bunch back when it first released (mostly the android release) and Remix absolutely blew me away! The updated graphics look amazing! I've been waiting for Classic mode to come out to write a review and I absolutely love it. The new powerups mixed with the old makes the gameplay a lot fluid and fast-paced. The new soundtrack that i assume is made by Vinter himself is really good! I can tell hes really been into writing orchestral stuff lately. Overall games really good and you should check it out if you like arcade shooters

KAMGUSTA's mini Review

A solid cabinet-style arcade/shoot-em-up with only 2 platforms to move from/to. Super polished and cool to play. You can play the "Classic" or the "Remixed" (aka remastered) version. Keep in mind the playtime is very short, less than 1 hour, but you have to get that far, and it isn't an easy task! The soundtrack is just awesome and a perfect fit for the gameplay.

Gosh this is a solid and fun game. I just wish I was better at it. It requires focus and quick reaction time.
Giving this game for free to owners of the original was a really nice gesture too.
Some tracks in the soundtrack are really hype and really add to the fun. Giving them as rewards for killing special enemies is just great. Worth the 10€ ? For me, yes but I also have nostalgia for the first game. I'd say get it if it's on sale or buy it and refund if you don't like it within the refund window.

With classic mode being added, i can safely say that this is one of the best remakes for a game ive ever seen.

Even without any experience of the original, this is a very well worth while game to experience and learn, made by people who just wanted to make something cool!

An update out of nowhere from a game released more than 10 years ago, and surprisingly turns out a really well done surprise update from the devs. New enemies, new soundtracks, new bosses, new playground, and an unexpected collab as well. I still love this kind of arcade games after years. It's a fast, fun arcade game.
