I am really sorry, but I do not see what exactly in that thread could solve my (our) problem with Castle Story not starting crashing when trying to start a map. Neither me nor the other users who posted here use the free ati drivers.
Of course I tried verifying the game cache as well as completely reinstalling the game through steam beforehand as with some other games this often helps to solve problems.
Am I missing something here?
EDIT Additional info on 2014, February 13th
Just for the sake of it, I tried changing my gfx drivers from ati's proprietary ones to the free ones. The game is running quite fine now on my laptop using the free drivers.
Just wanted to let you know.
The game is amazingly awesome and working like a charm.
thanks!
bad news, unable to get any information from the logs... this is going to be a really long quest...
Open driver is a workaround, I know it isn't the best for performance on games, but on this game it works... if you really don't want to change, it "works" on wine, I hate to use wine on linux games. =/
