how do you use planks

i am trying to make a floor ontop of a tower. but nomater what i do i cannot use planks. even thou the way it is situated lookes perfect for the wooden floors. so how do you fix that.

I've found you need to attach the short end to a log so the plank can be 'nailed' to them. Also the workers tend to leave them till last.

well i kinda want to make a roof so i can place a captult. so that kinda dont help me.

Ok well when i have built a tower with a platform it has logs making up the inner superstructure with horizontal ones at the top making a square. I then place the planks all in the same orrientation creating the tower top. If the pathing to the all the elements of the tower are clear you should be able to build one. There may be other ways to do it like attaching the logs horizontal to the brick work but as far as i'm aware, to create a sizable platform you need logs supporting the planks.

what dont make sence to me is when i place it the way it should be work. its not the dark blue but ligth blue, i dont know why they just wont just build it.

hmmm, interesting. You may just have to experiment a bit. Have you tried deleting the blue prints and replacing them?

while that was a little bit helpfull. i now know how to detete plan bricks without having to do it the long way. in reality none of that was helpfull. i been playing the survival map mode. all i want to know is why cant i build a dam roof on my towers. physcis dont exist in this world so i shouldnt have to build a dam super stucture under it. especialy when its light blue. the dam things just wont build it.

physics actually kind of exist, although in basic form.
gravity is a form of physics.
but i did encounter the same problem, was wondering why they wouldn't place it.
but i will retry again :P

ehh gravity is not realy that much existant in this. that video proves itas there is no way in hell you could build those stairs normaly. for all intesnive purposes gravity only exist when something is about to fall down. that said the build plan for the roof is light blue. that means the briktons can build it. they just wont.
