i would say it's worth it even if you end up not liking it you will have your fun trying it
Then they had a few years where they would instant ban anyone who said anything negative in the forums they control.
And they use sale revenue to buy positive reviews.
Keep that in mind when deciding to purchase.
It looks like cool concept for a simple game, but UI and AI seems very clumsy and unfinished.

They have delivered everything they promised in Kickstarter and added even more.
I don't know anything about that and i have been part of the community since early access. They take every feedback serious. They only delete post that are insulting, which obviously only happens in negative posts.
In case you are referring to my review i haven't been bought and i am not being payed by them. I am just someone who likes the game and has been helpful over the years.
That seems like normal gameplay instead of a review but ok.
The video isn't representative of the game anymore the version he plays was 0.9 and over 2 years old by now. A lot has changed since that to sum up a some of the bigger changes.
performance improvements
Bricktrons passing through each other
New Units, blocks, maps, mode
UI improved
hotkeys added
Bricktron population limit added
added ability to share Blueprints over Steam workshop
Sorry you feel that way - if you could elaborate on how you feel we mislead the backers or which promises that we made in the Kickstarter we failed to deliver, I'd love to try and clear things up. We actually went out of our way to make sure every single thing we ever promised in the Kickstarter was in the game before we named it 1.0 - that was literally our milestone "Make sure everything in the Kickstarter is in before we name the update 1.0" which is why we had 0.8, 0.9, 0.9.1 0.9.2 etc.
At some point, we did get too ban happy, yes, about four years ago. Since 2016 we've changed our communications team, unbanned (almost) everyone and haven't banned a single person since as far as I remember, or maybe one person who gave out IRL threats to the studio.
We did not purchase any reviews, anywhere. We've sponsored some Youtubers to make videos and bought some ad space on Facebook, Twitter and Google Search, but that about wraps up our paid marketing efforts.
In essence "mid game" invasion meta becomes 5 artificers, 10 xbow/10 bow and arrows, don't even bother with knights once you reach around wave 30+. If that sounds awful "late game" invasion meta becomes nothing more but sentinnel ward spam. These things could be slightly alleviated if we had proper command units, proper unit formations, and if our own units had more diversity in their meta. Instead the Halberdier is a waste of metal and wood outside of multiplayer, the knight becomes obsolete once you've built proper "slowing walls" and amassed an army of sentinnels or ranged units. The artificer is borderline useless outside of conquest since it's cheaper to just spam healing wards and sentinnels due to unit restrictions.
I've written a very detailed, slightly outdated now, review of this game that explains my core problems with it. That said, if you've always craved an RTS game that lets you build your forts and buildings at a brick-by-brick basis, and lets you feel like your fortifications are your own unique creations with their unique aesthetic Castle Story is the game for you. If you're just a casual gamer, or really hate RTS games, then no I do not recommend it.
