Save and close the game then just open the folder of the map which would be at Castle Story\Info\Maps\ if it's a vanilla map copy the trees.json file and paste it in your save folder which would be at Castle Story\Info\Saves then close the Folder very important that you close the folder then start the game and load your save.
I backed this game in 2012.
When the game was realeased, immediately saw a ton of red flags.
Some of the core issues have STILL not been fixed.
Now you are telling people to change a config file to have trees re-apear?
Should this mechanic not be in the base game?
Not only is this game failed,
The founders did not handle the situation well and should never attempt launching another game ever again.
This game was moved to the " eyesore " folder in my steam library back in 2016, and it will remain there forever.
