The bricktons were having pathing issues last time i checked. But that was a while ago.
Yeah they have a discord, they moved onto a new game but have stated its finished. Less bugs if they arise or something. :)
If I had to hazard a guess, they didn't make enough money to keep paying staff and probably one guy is running the whole show in his off time from a day job.

Which is actually a decent time frame, most games take between 6-10 years depending on the crew and the game.
They were demoing the project before the kickstarter, for about a year or two though

I'd rather they create a second version of the game. That way they can improve on their previous engine etc. Maybe aim for some more complexity, like planet wide mining or more progression into things like magic and building
