How to get Multiplayer to work?

Does anyone know how to get Multiplayer to work? Me and my friend have tried multiple times to play together and every time either of us hosts a server the other one can't join.

Going to need more info to help you out! What do you mean "the other one can't join"? Do you get an error? Does it crash? Do you not see the other player's lobby?

How are you trying to connect to each other? Via Steam Friends' list? Are you typing in an IP manually? Are you using a virtual network adapter (such as Hamachi)? Have you both made sure Castle Story is allowed through your firewall?

We have attempted to join each other through the multiplayer games menu and the steam friends list and no matter what we do we get the same result of it saying we've timed out or that we can't connect to the host.

That sounds like a firewall issue.

Can you confirm both you and your friend have allowed Castle Story through your firewall? You won't be able to play multiplayer otherwise.

Ideally, post a screenshot of Castle Story's properties in your Firewall settings so I can doublecheck that everything is right.
