Enemies are to cool in invasion and conquest mode
I just want to say that form my point of view game lose their charm because enemies to fast grow in number and power. Especially 3rd level enemies that break stone walls in two strikes. This game in huge part is about the building. But I do not have time to build anything worthwhile. Game forcing me to play in starcraft style, that I think is bad for that game. I think that is necessary to significally lower enemies progression and make enemies not to easily break walls. Otherwise simply is not reasonable to build walls - they crumble in the blink of an eye but spend much time to build.
P.S.
Last played game in february - the game has became much better, but still require some balancing.

Sentinals help alot but are iron/brimstone heavy in cost. I made it to wave 20 on Zuma with it's minimal resources before throwing in the towel. IMHO we need to be able to choose for ourselves the time between waves. With this simple addition you could make a game super hard, or relatively easy all with a slider.

Well, just go into the LUA files and edit the wave timer and voila, different wave lengths.

I know, sentinels helps, but in current situation we got game like "rush" in RTS - no castle building, just defence at any cost. But game named "Castle Story", not "Rush Story", or "Chaotic Waves Story".
I think will be better to allow player to build that castles... Curenntly even on easy I just build pieces of defence and build army, not castle.

Just wondering, which gamemode do you normally play with?
qeas Jun 24, 2017 @ 1:53pm
I was tried conquest and invasion on normal and easy. Sandbox is not interesting for me because I like to build for some goal (defend in this case), not just for fun. If you intrested in general - usually I choose normal because want to see what authors want to say as it is.

Alright that's interesting. I usually play normal invasion as well and while my castle does focus on defence, I can also make it look nice and, well, like a castle. I usually spend the first wave not even worrying about building, just get to the position where you can make at least over half of your guys into fighters (either class it just depends on preference, but I go for half and half) and then you have the safety net to survive for a bit while you build, because you should be able to defend from the first 5 waves without casulties if you're careful.
Conquest generally isn't focused on castle building as much, that is just about winning the game, being as strategic as possible. Also for conquest, a lot of people are saying that there isn't much time to build anything on normal, as the corruptrons swarm too quickly so at least you're not alone... I guess just find ways to slow down your enemies, build wooded fences as a quick defence and two high stone walls for a quickish defence that you can build up on once you are relatively safe.
This might not help much, but that's my limited advice.
Thanks for the mod tips, makes invasion more fun. I would still love to see it built into option so we didn't have to mod wave strength and timing though. :)

I just tried conquest and got my tail handed to me after about 3 hours. Tier 3 Corruptrons kept coming and coming.. I had 10 each archers and knights surrounded by 5 healing pods and 20 sentinals on my little wall (all I had time to build besides the 10000 storage pads you have to have when mining for brimtone due to stone gathering). Still got swamped and only captured 3 crystals.. couldn't leave my sential fence to capture any without getting stomped by 30+ Corruptrons. Not sure what difficulty I was on.. trying and new one to see.

I would love to see a spawn object added to Sandbox that you could place whenever you got your castle ready and then toggle Corruptron spawning from it to test your defenses.

Thanks for the advice, but I think that 3rd level enemies are too fast break walls. It must take considerable time, at least greater then time that is needed to build walls. And currently we have no easy way to repair (and repair at all) walls, that can help keep walls in solid state.

@Perry the Platypus, you could make a gamemode and alter the wave timer so it's 999999999, so you can trigger it when you want, but the rest of the time it wil just be sandbox.

@qeas, Have you used the repair task?
Mogal Jun 25, 2017 @ 2:51pm
Yes, being able to set the time between waves would be awesome. I find that myself, I just haven't got quite enough done before the wave starts... 5-6 waves in and now I have to take on repairs as well as continue building...

But then again, thats the challenge to the game right?

I guess it would just be nice to delay the enevitable!

Yes, repair is good, but I can't repair wall if 3rd-level enemy break lower brick and all upper are fall out of the wall...

Well, the task will automatically place the blueprints back of the missing bricks, and that's really as good as it's going to probably get...

Ok, thanks for advice, will try again. But please think about 3rd level enemies.

Wait, I just re-read your last message... If a biftron (3rd level guy) destroys a brick, the rest of the wall shouldn't collapse. Are you interlocking your bricks, like this: http://imgur.com/a/zoeCm
(Sorry, I don't have time to actually launch the game right now, so you can have my super artistic version instead). Also, sorry if you're already doing this, but for me, I rarely have more than a two block gap in my walls, particularly when it's a biftron. If you are just stacking bricks on top of eachother, I 100% reccomend interlocking them, it'll make your build less likely to topple.
qeas Jun 26, 2017 @ 10:14am
Yes, I interlock usually except rare cases. And usually build walls with two bricks in a width. But a few times powerful bricktrones collapse several bricks at a time when attack and make through hole in my walls about a brick in width, enter to the camp and do many bad thgings.
