Can you tell me what your specs are?
Also, have you tried a fresh reinstall? https://sauropodstudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/218389798-How-to-do-a-fresh-reinstall-of-Castle-Story-Crashes-Crash-
Cold-restart the game. This means stop Castle Story, wait 30 seconds, then restart the game. If you are still suffering from lag, then you have other factors:
my pc specs are in my first post ...
the problem was not reinstalling the game.
the problem, as i think it was, was ANOTHER castle story installed on my other hard drive. i think this somehow happened when i bought my new ssd. i did change the steam games folder and it didnt recognize my old games installed, but they were still there.
interessting. but i found out something else: if i go to options and use any slide control the fps goes down (just in the menu). when i stop using the slide control fps goes up to 144 again (i did set a cap there since i play on 144hz monitor). maybe this information is useful for you somehow but thread may be closed for now.
thanks for the link, i didnt come to the idea that another old castle story installation blocked my new one on my new ssd.
keep on working on this great game

If you save the game, go back to the main menu (don't close the game) and load your save file again, does it alleviate the issue?
