Does Iverlantho die? Because, you know, I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Not sure what events you got, but from what i saw the guy had a terrible luck, he was twice widowed. his father died when he was young, and everyone see him as figurehead at best while also expact him to do great things,

Yeah, but he still annoys me. Who the hell asks for a crown a week after everyone was on the brink of starvation?

He kinda go hardcore on it and doesnt explain it "well" at best - making it seems (or that maight acuttly be the case) that he care more on his postion then the tribe , but when you accutly do it he give the clan more magic and blessings for honering the ancestors and myths of the tribe and possibly somewhat avoiding the tribe crumbling,

i think its proboly the right things we dont get that info at start so people acuttly chose what they want and arent pushed to any start

Oh, fair enough. I didn't know that.

He is the reincarnation of Bad King Urgrain never trust this guy even if in appearence he might be a good iron fist leader.

I take Bad King Urgrain himself as an advisor were he to give me 8-12 clan magic and a horde of golden cows, Iverlantho isnt always wrong but he does have very dim view of the world - he is only right when he speak of elmal and when speaking on traditions.

The guy will proboly be a better priest or lore keeper then a king but he isnt incompetent and cruelty made manfist like Urgrain.

Even by fisher king standards, you have to have an insane ego to look at the full-blown apocalypse happening around you and go, "This is because I'm not on the throne".

Yeah, he's not cruel, just...oblivious. He wouldn't be the least useful guy I've ever had on a ring (he's not a Trickster, after all), but his stats are too average to be worth it.

Iverlantho aside, I hope the game's plot isn't "rebuild your tribe". We already kinda did that, and it doesn't fit with my personal idea of what the Great Darkness was about.

I might be wrong on this, but isnt the entire narrtive of the solar/fire/dara harpa/sky panthon at the time that the apocalypse happned directly becuse their king Yelm isnt on the throne and none of his sons manged to retake his place on the throne.

On your second point, they kinda go out of their way to let you think, decide and act on that at the start of the game, so i say its pretty likely to not the case, and the game is rather grim and dark, you can barly feed your clan if at all, you are constantly attacked by hordes of chaos and undead and that is despite being one of the strongest clans around tribe or no tribe.

Remember he trying to get the tribe back to its natural order when Chaos going on. Which raises as we know the real thing when comes to mood and magic. By fully reclaiming his kingship he restored the natural order for the tribe.

Sure, in the Yelmic way. But it's an Orlanthi clan too, and "no one can make you do anything".

Yeah. He's probably like Cenala was, like a "doing this will make the game easier, but it's okay if you don't" kind of thing. Which is cool, it's great the devs give us that sort of freedom.

Yeah But feel like because we are the royal clan we cannot ignore trying to restore the power of the kingship.

I really hope we will not be railroaded into losing kingdom and the king. It seems like a cool mechanic to try to restore royal authority and regain lost regalia.
Motorola May 9, 2023 @ 6:17am
it is a fake kingdom, only nominally a kingdom, but if memory serve me right, it should go like this : everyone lose faith/hope as chaos worsen-kingdom is no more- you lead the search and finding of the lost regalia- you do the proper rites- try to convince everyone to restore and lead the final battle against chaos hordes.

I think we will try to restore it the kingdom could be destroyed or we make strong enough to survive the Chaos. Are current King is older too in his late 50s. I don't know if he has a son to succeed him.

I don't think there is going to be a final battle. No amount of fighting is going to stop the Darkness.
I think the endgame is just that we survive the Darkness, maybe giving Orlanth the magic he needs waaaaay over in the Underworld to rescue Yelm and make peace.

There's a whole spirit (Amber) dedicated to helping in matters of kingship, so I think rebuilding will be a real option.
