How to continue a game from Ride Like The Wind?
Hi, I saw that there is an achievement for continuing a game from the 1st one. Do you need to win a campaign in the previous game to be able to continue in this sequel? Or will using any save from the first game be ok? I did not find an option from the main menu to import a save. :)

Thank you! I promise I looked into that menu but could not see it.

For many players the default should be fine, but you might need to click Controls on the main menu, click Choose, and then navigate to and select the StormAge folder.

Whenever I try to do this, it thinks that the folder in the StormAge folder is empty, even though it is a fully completed run.

You don't actually have to select a file there, just the folder. Then when starting a new game you can choose to load your old save.

So, what are the actual effects of continuing a first-game victory?

Is it mostly for immersion, or does the second game inherit some of your choices from the first one? Do the choices you've made matter, or the artifacts you've gathered, or something? Meaning, do you get UNIQUE scenes you'd otherwise never get, or gameplay effects, or such? Or does it just affect the starting numbers and sliders and all that, and is mostly irrelevant.

A simple, honest answer is all I need, since I want to know whether to replay the first one or just start the second one.

Again, you select the folder (StormAge) containing saved games.

Some choices you made matter.

I've noticed so far:
-Your Ancestor shrine gives a blessing of your First Event (not very useful for my guys as it's the 17 banners).
-The Alkothi (sp?) Demon Army of Death (which I defeated in the previous game) going 'Here we go again' before battle.

Do shrines/temples copy over?

A lot has changed in over a century! As one of your advisors notes, “We fell on hard times and had to let most of our temples fall into disrepair. We should rebuild what we can.”

Where were the save games kept by default? I can't find them. May be that they were deleted when I uninstalled the game.

Assuming you’re a Windows user, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Six Ages Ride Like the Wind\Documents\StormAge (which is the folder you would select in the Controls dialog from the main menu, if you’re using the current build).

I’ve never really paid attention to uninstalling but I imagine Steam would delete that.

I'm on Mac, and I don't see this option in the Controls panel.

On a Mac you shouldn’t need it, the saves are in a folder that’s shared between apps.

Where was the folder with the old save game files located ? Is it in Documents or is it part of the main game installation?

Do I have to reinstall the first Six Ages to find it ?

[Note: It took a bit of head-scratching, but after I re-installed Ride Like the Wind I was able to figure it out.
