Firefall Security Alert!
Installed with steam, detected with Avira. The file or folder Dumptruck.exe contains unwanted malware TR/ATRAPS.gen (trojan)
Is it vital to the game? Will the game run without this file? I'm esclating to steam, someone needs to check this.

Update; the program can't complete download without the file, Avira disallows the file because of it's status. The game is unplayable. I've been directed to the Firefall website and await a response...

Actully surprised it flagged dumptruck and not redhanded (as a couple anti-viruses flagged it in the past as a false positive).

It is false. Dumptruck and Redhand as neoVictrix said are not malware.
It is part of the game files function. Your anti-virus is just too overly protective.
You must go into your windows firewall settings and unblock FireFall installer.
Or whichever way how you do it.

Since it's AVG it's be that program's exceptions list (preferably the entire folder than just a specific file).

Honestly allowing the entire folder also helps cut down scan times since it isn't scanning the folder, especially if it's a game you know is clean.

I quarintined the flagged program, cancelled the install and restarted the download. Without the file, the game installed and ran just fine! 'False positive' you say? :)

It's basically what's used to report game crashes, so not something "required" to have the game run.

Kafei (support portal) has been in touch to assure me the file is kosher and can be safely downloaded. Now i have to assure Avira of that. The important part is that I've got the game running and... it's quite good! A keeper I think. :)
Thanks all.
