The9, can we buy the rights?

The love and nostalgia for i had for FireFall hit me like a truck these past few days (3 year anniversary of the shut down on the 7th of July) and it got me thinking, would it be possible or even viable to buy the rights to FireFall from The9 and the conglomerate (9 companies/people have shares on red5 as of April 28th 2016) I've just done surface level digging so far, and its seeming less possible as the estimated value of Red5 then was $170 million USD i have not found anything more recent than that as of this post.

I just miss the game so much.

The9 is a toxic company. Worse than any game company out there. This is what every Chinese who plays or used to play World of Warcraft can tell you about.

Not worth buying the game as it sits but the IP might be worth it. The game was built on the offset rendering engine. Yes Red 5 took a rendering engine and turned it into a game engine. The source code would be worthless as is. Any team you get would have to learn the whole system on their own. Just restart it basically would be quicker. Maybe use the source code for models and refernce at most.

There´s a game trying to fill these footsteps, called Em-8ER "Ember"

I´m not sure whats gonna come of it, but the guy driving the project has been hiring really talented people, like Ilya Kuvshinov for Artwork, for example.

Theres already some demos out there.
Player driven Economy and Cities build by, with locations and size depending on Player activity is what was planned originally. I haven´t been following the news for quite some time tho.

I thought whoever listens in here might be interested in checking it out.

The guy making Em-8ER is the same dude who made Firefall.
