A very close one to one match.

There's a lot of differences, but the closest game that scratches at least some of the same itches that I've found is Warframe. Run around killing stuff, collect materials, craft stuff parts. The game has a crapton of content and is successful enough that you don't have to worry about it disappearing overnight.

But there's no such thing as thumping, and it's not a persistent world.

It's pretty big spaces, besides you can't be too picky

recently the closest game that resembles the same kind of gameplay firefall had I think is Once Human. Sure there's no jetpacks, but its got crafting, guns, and an open world. There are also builds that you can follow online but its lacking the healing/tank/dps trinity. it does look like an arena type game like tarkov or fortnite, but its actually closer to a survival mmo with rpg mechanics and dynamic world events. did I mention that it was also free to play?
