New firefall-like game

There is a group making a much more Firefall-like game called "Respark" They have a discord and patreon. I would post links but I think steam would remove them or something.
search it up, lemme know if u cant find em and I could dm to you :) Looks alot more promising than em8er

I got to say, I like what I saw. It does have the firefall spirit more pronounced than even em8er, which is a mech mmo and firefall was not. So, thank you for sharing. I'm liking it so far. It's raw, but I think its in a good path. We'll see what happens.

is ember playable now? In comparison to 2014 firefall how playable/complete is it? 50 percent of 2014 firefall? 60 percent? How about respark?

And is steam censoring game links now ??!! please tell me the youtube speech control infection is not starting to spread here!

Em8er is in crisis mode. A few months back people involved were talking about a rebranding of the game.

Outside of an incomplete tech demo, they don't have anything to show for, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeesh, I guess I regret subbing to their website for a few months there, they kept releasing skins on it per month and you had to pay to get them. Their discord pings every now and then for a community call about the game but I haven't checked in for over a year as it was always about skins and showing the tech demo.

It is at like 3% maybe :/ i am afraid it will never release.

The design doesn't even have much resemblance to firefall, which makes it a completely different game.

Do you know what tier allows for current build access?

looks like $10 but does that mean you have to stay subbed all through development or do they give you a key or something if you pay for a month of patreon?

Heyy, founder of Respark here.
Even the one time payment will get you the founder role forever, however the Patreon bot will remove it automatically when the sub is cancelled so everyone having this issue should contact us.

We don't have any one time buy-to-play payments right now as it's not possible to play the game right now if there is no playtest running.
We did the first one a few months ago and wanted to do following playtests in a much higher frequency but we faced a lot of issues mostly with the server stability.
There's another founder-only playtest being scheduled soon but our highest priority right now is being able to run a short playtest (server stress test) that will be free for everyone.
If it survives the load we can probably keep a persistent founder-only server running after that.

Patreon is currently used only to pay for software tools and server hosting, other than that everyone is working on the project for free and in their free time, that's why we are sometimes slow to deliver something new and then we put out tons of new stuff in a week.

We hope to finish the core inventory and equipment systems by the end of the year to finally give players some meaningful progress mechanics.
