No weapons/Can't equip weapons?

Right so I just ran through the tutorial & first mission with nothing but my fist. I got weapons in my inventory, but they aren't equipped. I hit Q, right click, left click, double click weapon in inventory, mouse wheel scrolling to change weapons, I've ran through every key in key bindings.. nothing.

Also, logged off/logged back in. Still unarmed.

Assault frame, if it matters..

Am I the only one with this problem?

RESOLVED - Playing the New Player Experience Without a Weapon


Players that are going through the New Player Experience are not given a weapon. We are still looking into this issue.

Well, not so resolved is it? I'm a patient man, I haven't spent a dime so I'm not going into typical Steam Hub RAGE mode or anything but hey.. might wanna double check this out.

I'll provide more info about specs and stuff as requested.

You say you have the weapon though. Did you hit P and equip it from there?

P? Damn, the one key I didn't press. :O I thought 'I' would do it since its inventory.

Hello, I am having the same problem as the OP and P does nothing for me, I completed the tutorial with melee alone twice and pressed every button on my keyboard to no avail. Any thoughts?

Hi.

What I did was close the game out, restarted it, and the 'P' key worked. Then you drag your weapons on your primary and secondary slots. It should just work from there.

If you have issues then /rui is usually as effective as closing the game and restarting (it reloads the user interface). Use p to open up the personal menu thing where you can equip things (although I've had issues with not being able to equip ability mods there a /rui worked well and showed the piles of pickups missing from my inventory)

All I got is what I said months ago. I haven't really played this game much since (Its an MMO and they're extremely hard for me to get "into", no matter how often I try).

If it was still messing with me, I'd do a "Verify Game Cache" for s.hits & giggles and restart the game. Also shutdown & restart Steam. Usually these two steps often fix steam games for me. After that, and its off to Google.. unless its a unique case (as was my issue here, otherwise I wouldn't have asked). Then the next stop would be asking the game's actual forums for advice.
