CPU Spikes
So, I'm doing a green run on slow, and I'm at level 432. Last night I crashed due to overheating, and I just noticed a CPU spike of around 500%, which temporarily put me well over any reasonable limits, but things eventually recovered, and I'm now running at around 10% capacity in storage/memory/CPU.

I know there's no point in doing this, but is the CPU spike intentional to try to stop these kinds of long playthoughs, or is it a bug? I was at about 75% of a dataset and I have my virus protection up to level 10, so am I missing a gameplay mechanic or something? Was that a virus or something? I have no notifications about it in my inbox.

Hey there, it does sound like this might have been a bug! So not deliberate in-game sabotage, though I can see why would you would question it. If you go to the settings menu, there is a 'stability mode' button in the advanced section which should stop this from happening in future. In these longer runs the numbers can get so extreme that they sometimes slip a little bit, but a more robust/longer term fix for this is on the way. Thank you for checking out the game, love to hear about these green runs!

That would make sense. I occasionally get strange power readings after an upgrade or the like, so maybe stability mode is for me. Thanks!

I feel this might have something to also do with the Visualizer Tool as well. Upon loading there is a bit of a hang for a couple seconds before loading elements. I can also agree I have had the general hang issue myself when using the CPU thing.
Without it, I have gotten roughly level 500 when I started to have large lag spikes that caused the calculations to go crazy stating I was in a deficit and losing money at +5M per tick ultimately ending the run. Personally I thought it was intentional due to being a new game as some do when things need to be figured out, and that there were some issues seeing it has to run calculations from and simulations, but this is good to know.
