Unable to get sound through HDMI, this game only
Hi guys

I havee the game hooked up through my PC to my TV through a HDMI cable but for some reason the sound diverts back to my PC speakers as soon as the game loads. I have had some trouble in the past with games behaving weird but it was due to an issue with me using a controller. HAs anyone had the same problem or have any idea how i would fix it?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

Similar issue here, no sound through a hdmi cable. Everything else works, soundwise, except this particular game. Going to try some more things.

Did you get any solution?
Mine does similar thing: The sound only works if i get to run on pc speakers, not on my tv... when i try to run the game using the tv as default, it goes mute...
Video worls fine, just sound.
Try using display port as i am getting sound from display port.

Enable borderless windowed mode https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Castle_of_Illusion#Borderless_fullscreen_windowed and activate windowed mode from video settings from main menu.

Wanted to play this game today with my niece and nephew and had this same issue with no sound coming out of the HDMI cable. Initially thought maybe Windows 11 had broken something. What I did was... started the game and at the loading screen there's a "Help and Options" section. Went there and under the "Video" setting I went there and noticed the resolution was off. It was something like 3840x2160@59hz. I changed it to 3840x2160@120hz and also unchecked the Fullscreen checkbox. Confirmed the changes and sound started coming out. I re-enabled Fullscreen and sound still works. So I believe the fix is to just make sure the resolution as well as the refresh rate match what your PC's graphics card is currently set at. For example... my resolution is set at 4k and my Tv's refresh rate is set at 120hz. Can find this information for your PC under System > Display > Advanced display. Anyway... the sound works for me now.
