Playing with contoller
Hi Everyone,

What controllers did you mamage to use in this game. Mine is not working with it, and I wonder if there is a controller that actually works with Castle of Illusion.

Any experience?
BR,
Attila

Steam should let you bind the keys to any controller your PC can detect. I have a generic gamepad, and it works just fine

Open the Settings window by clicking Steam, then Settings. Navigate to Controller and click on General Controller Settings. If your gamepad is detected, it should appear to the left under a list of Gamepad options. Check the box marked Generic Gamepad for now. Click on your controller, a few new buttons should pop up. Click Define Layout. The rest should be pretty simple from there. When you're done, click Save

If your controller is missing buttons, then don't worry. I have 2 controllers with this kind of issue, and both work just fine for what I set them as, including in other games. As long as you have what you want, you can leave some blank

Used one of my custom ps4 controllers with the DS4Windows app, when I recorded a 100% video playthrough last year.

Steam has full ps4 controller support however, but I don't want to use Steam's.

I used PS4 and 8bitod MegaDrive (M30) Controller. Both works fine with the game. Especially the last one is great choice for this game. (and other 2D Platformer)

One of my controllers is a USB Sega Genesis controller I got with my Sega Genesis Mini. It's limited to A, B, C, Start, and the D-pad. I did get it to work. There are downsides, I was required to have A, B, X, and Y mapped, so I had to adjust. But it does work. So I am able to play it with the classic way controls

theres a program called reWASD, to hook up your ps4 or other controller that doesnt work on this game, and emulate it as a xbox360 controller that does work for this game.
