Game not starting - Gpu info

well like most people I can not get the game to start and have tried everything i can think off.
while going through the notepad files to change the default res. i saw this and thinking thats probably the main reason for the crashes.

VIDEO_Drv = "NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS DISPLAY1"

I am not even using a nvidia card, I have an ati 6850 so the driver is not even close.
The actual settings given from the game install are completely off.
When is there going to be a fix....? Otherwise i want my money back as I have already wasted hours with this game and got nothing but like 150 crashes every one the same error.
In total like 3hrs+ d/l time since steam is sooo slow... and getting close to 3hrs just trying to open this game...
If theres no fix within the next few hours then just give me my money back, already wasted 1/2 my day.

Find your GodMode directory, navigate to your GodMode.exe file, right-click and click on properties, go to the compatibility tab and tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose to run it in Windows Vista mode.

Also edit your game.cfg with notepad++ or something similiar, scroll down towards the middle until you find the video options, resolution height and width, and change them to your native resolution.

Make sure to run the game by clicking on the game's .exe file, rather than running it through Steam's library.

if you read what i wrote before i already tried that, This is where i saw

I have tried at least 6 different compatiblity versions etc nothing works.
Been reading this forum for over an hour now.

Same for me. I have tried everything posted in these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ threads. I noticed that line as well. I am running a Gforce 680 GTX. My config file reads the same as yours.

thanks for confirming Overburn. Again the error i get is a stackhash from the game trying to send incorrect data to my gpu. My card is an ati 6850 not a nvidia 7900. the chipsets are varesly different. The game developers need to fix this.......

I literally have hundreds of games installed on this rig. I ahve NEVER had a game on this machine that simply failed to start. Ever. Hell i have hundreds of games on my steam account alone. This is soo aggravating.

Mine DOES play though if I set it to run in Windows 98 mode. I am running windows 7 64 bit. All my video drivers are up to date along with mobo drivers.

But it looks so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Windows 98 mode that it isnt worth it.

Same I have like 200 games installed on this comp. Had plenty more, only ever had an issue with a few games when i was using 2xgpu with crossfire, but turning 1 off always solved it.
Only using 1 gpu now thou. I wouldnt even bother with win98 mode. The res. would be aweful :(
