45 FPS lock?
Nothing forced in Afterburner/Fraps/CCC. Specs are...

i7 3770 @ 4.2ghz
16GB DDR3 1660mhz Crucial ram
Asus 7950 @ 900mhz (tried my 1.1ghz preset, didn't change anything)
Installed on WD Caviar Black (Samsung 830 SSD boot drive)

Quality preset set to high @ 1080p. Don't seem to be able to break 45fps... It doesn't dip either, which is good, but why on earth 45fps?

There's a huge difference between 45FPS on a PC screen that is 120hz and a 30FPS on a tiny 3DS screen that's already having a low refresh rate.

Normal that you didn't really got affected. 45FPS on PC is easly noticable, it was just an example. Without looking at the other example, just look at the 30/45FPS one, you already see it's choppy.

No need to compare to get the feel on low refresh rate games.

you realise the human brain, at max can see 60 FPS, 120 FPS is for 3D, so you can get both frames for both eyes at 60 FPS. 120 FPS is the same as 60 FPS to the human brain. the difference, between 30 FPS and 60 FPS is only noticable when your actively looking for it. both look real to the eye, and some people actually are repelled by 60 FPS, with a sense of too-real, it's called the soap-opera effect(many non-gamers can't play video games because of this). Gamers, PC gamers specifically, ussually have a resistance to this, however, normal people ussually don't, most Media on the TV is 30 FPS, only soaps float the extra bucks for the double film length.

i'd just like everyone to know, that the reason this gets over looked, is because it's only a problem to Heavy PC gamers. Most humans don't see a difference unless shown them both side by side, or if they get the Soap opera effect. (i think after some thought, that that may not be the name, but it is close like Soap effect or something)

You can absolutely feel a huge difference between 60 FPS and 30 FPS. I can feel a difference between 45 and 60 FPS. You're right about the above 60 FPS part, and that some people cannot handle 60 FPS, but those people are the fringe minority.

I can tell the difference between 60 & 120fps. This guy guessed right five times outta five...

Your eyes, and my eyes, don't see in frames. We see fluidity... And I see a lot more fluidity with 120fps than I do with 60, making the experience more pleasurable.

Give your average person, anyone, 6 months with a 60hz monitor, then 6 months with a 120hz monitor, then put them back on a 60hz monitor... See what happens. Me, personally, I'm going for resolution over 120hz atm, but I'm certainly not going for any game under 60.

Great video. I had no idea you could actually tell a difference between 60 and 120 FPS with a 120Hz monitor.

just stupid to say you can't see the difference above 60FPS. you abso-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-lutely can. Been gaming my whole life (i'm 20) and there is an enormous reason I bought a 120 hz monitor. back on topic, uncap the damn framerate please. thanks! :)

So out of 20 odd posts you are the only one who cannot tell the difference between 30,45 and 60 fps - hmm maybe you need to think about that one for a minute.

Here watch this and let us know if you still feel the same way: http://boallen.com/fps-compare.html

If you do feel the same way then perhaps your motofunction skills are impaired.

On a technical note there is more reason than higher fps and fluid motion for having a higher frame rate - but i don't want t challenge your IQ too much i think your head might explode if i did you are having enough issues comprehending the comparitive between 30 and 60 fps..

So despite you being a troll, why dont u tell ppl how your monitor is what 60Hz, the games capped at 45 fps so explain how vsynch and triple buffering will help in this game to stop the tearing.

judging by your name you are what 14 yrs old, i would have assumed by this age you had more common sense than this, shame on me.

Is it really nessesary to be a judgemental ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, he was stating an opinion and you totally reemed him out. God forbid anyone might have an opinion different from yours!
Your holyer then thou attitude might keep you at the top in whatever highschool you go too, but do the rest of us a favor and STFU! Go troll somewhere else.

On a game note, the FPS cap is quite annoying however... I've seen more bugs and/or missing features from a couple AAA titles recently then what this game has.

Quite true... But then again, there's not much game to bug out in the first place :P

A shooter that doesn't offer me at least 60 framerates per second, is a game not worthy of my time. People with slow reaction times don't care about FPS since an increased frame rate won't have an impact on their limited brain functions.

what option did you change? You can get rid of screen tearing by enabling vsync in control panel if you have nvidia card.

I've scoured the cfg file and cant find a single option for unlocking the fps though...

Into the trash it goes!
This game is great for co-op. Its hard to find good multiplayer games that you will actually want to play with friends. 45FPS or not, this game is actually really enjoyable with 3 buddies. Hopefully the devs fix it, but if not I'll still get a good 6-10 hours of co-op with my friends I'm sure.

Anything is fun with friends and this game has no Co-op aspects besides these other people in the game.

This game is bad and it hides behind half hearted co-op.

Was thinking of getting this game til I saw the 45fps lock, it is now removed from my wishlist.

No, it's not fine. That number doesn't divide evenly into the refresh rate, causing all kinds of issues. If they have to cap it they should cap it at 60fps.

Pepeople keep saying this, but the game plays just fine. Sure capping at 45 FPS is beyond stupid on PC, but it's not causing any real problems for me or my friends that play it.

Accepting the 45FPS cap is just ignoring the problem.

There's no real reason of having an FPS cap other than the devs just don,t want work on it to uncap it and make t good for everyone.

Oh no I'm not accepting it, but I'm not going to quit playing. I'll quit playing because of the whole microphone situation before I quit because of the FPS cap.

They really, really need to fix these issues, especially the FPS cap, but people are blowing it way out of proportion.
