patch to stop the game from crashing so often?
all i'm really missing right now is to beat mission 10 and mission 5 on the hardest difficulty.

yesterday i played co-op with a buddy and we crashed twice loading into mission 6. that's four hours i'm never getting back. because he was the host, i got stuck in a loading screen and had to close the program to get out of it, meaning all my skulls also got lost.

just tried to play the game again, solo this time, thinking hey maybe it was a co-op problem. nope, crashed on wave 4 mission 1 -_-

now my question becomes why on earth would i play a game that asks me to do X amount of missions to get a fancy pancy achievement when it's just pure luck if i'm allow to get that far without crashing.

I found a lot of similar issues from other games that use the EOS SDK (Epic Online Services) where people who play solo/offline still crash with 'exception access violation' error codes because it's trying to access online features for some reason when it shouldn't be (probably why a lot of people tend to avoid EOS games).

It's likely causing similar issues in OMDD...
There's plenty of games that run third party tools in the background for extra services like server hosting or kernel level anti-cheat or anti-piracy checks which pass a lot of information to online services behind the scenes.
Hopefully it's something within Robot's power to fix, and if it is I'm sure the devs are working on it.

I’d love a mechanic that lets you retry from the start of the mission. Crashing, leaving players etc results in nothing despite a few hours of gameplay.

That's a decent idea. Having like an 'autosave' feature in case you crash so you can resume from the last pause break between waves.
But it would be abused by people who don't wana be punished for losing lol. Load quicksaves for infinite retries.. It'd have to be able to detect actual game crashes rather than just people 'pulling the plug' by alt+F4 or something, which would be silly coz if you could detect the reason for a game crash you'd just fix the game crash haha
