Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap

Losing my mind here over the barricade thing and teammates.
Joined lobby for NA server.
Started first mission.
One player instantly disconnects, and we don't get their barricades.
Host attempts to put a strategy together to work around it.
Other teammate just starts yapping in Chinese and has no idea what's going on and places barricades down in horrible spots instead of blocking.
Free loss yet again.
Deathtrap is set up to be played with double the players of previous games, yet it only gets worse with more people because of the stupidity and lack of cooperation with the limited barricades being split between us.

This just sounds like bad teammates. Though not getting the barricades back when a player leaves is a legit problem.
Whole reason i got the game was so i could actually play with others. But having runs fail because even a single person doesn't play smart is such a pain in the ass.
I haven't attempted coop for that reason. Needing to get all players to agree on a barricade strategy every mission feels like such a headache. If anybody disagrees or refuses to cooperate the run is essentially over.

I have a bit of a hot take on the barricades in MP but imo only the host should get barricades in MP. Setting them up is the biggest issue every time because not only people can have different ideas of how the map should go but on occasion some individuals just refuse to put them down.

I haven't met anyone using a mic yet so it's safe to say pings are the main way of communication which might be problematic with more people to negotiate with.

I literally just replace the host's barricades with mine every time to give them more choice.

As for playing with randos, it's the usual. Sometimes you get a good team yo go all the way with and sometimes it's a clowncar that crashes in the first 10min. Standard online experience. I just wish the game removed disconnected ppl after some time. Not only you don't get their barricades but you have to always wait out the ready timer.

Playing ANY game with randos is usually a bad idea. I stopped doing it long ago.

The only time you should ever play with randos is if you want some degree of chaos. Not everyone has a thousand hours in OMD (as evidenced by so many people on the forums claiming to know what they're talking about.). Heck, i just had some rano playing with me; carried them to map 8 starting on 1.5X and they blew the entire thing up by placing a barricade in the dumbest position known to man on wave 5 and causing everything to destroy the front barricades.

Despite them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the whole thing up so spectacularly, it was fun to have to pick up after them for so long. It's a much better RNG system for causing trouble in your game than threads will ever be.
The more people you have the harder the game is. This was true day 1 and it's even more true now that you get extra barricades for some reason.
after only finding afk host lobbies all day i finally got a proper game and right after we load in someone leaves so we don't have enough barricades to make the map work. who the ♥♥♥♥ tested this ♥♥♥♥?

Nice when you do find teammates who are good though I hope we are not waiting too long on the player leaving bug cause had to end a run just before 5th boss cause someone left, making rest of us struggle on 4th mission due to lacking barricades and were unlucky to never get a thread for more.

My biggest gripe is those who place down the vines and pretty much only them and want us to slow down the match just so their lil babies can grow or expect us to plan fully around them damn things so close to the rift/kill box

NGL those people are the worst. Especially when they don't grasp that killing things on vines means less score which means less $ and less skulls. Use the vines if you want for chip damage, but don't fight on the damned things!

This so much! they boast how in end they got most trap damage due to them but have only around 56 combo score while I have almost to 2k combo and just as a high score even though my traps are further to be hit by the enemy. It just makes the rounds drag on longer than they should.

I use it but i don't go hog wild to feed it, might place a few away from the kill box entrance the main one is, those get set along corner paths (Its an expansion trap to save me money not to spam the elsoo) Sure its a great trap that can scale on growth but i want skulls and coin that the Actual box provides.
