They just added that to help the onboarding process. Before that, new players would have no indication of what half the enemies are and what to expect, as this game doesn't have that slow build up of mechanics that previous games did.

An option to say "I've played OMD before" would be nice, I guess, but there are still changes here that would be nice to know about.
Can just escape through the tutorial video.
We were three wanting to play this, we all refunded because we were forced to go through every single tutorial.

Absurd that they would _force_ players to run through a lengthy tutorial.

Looking at the reviews, it seems we didn't miss much.

Takes less time than it took to post this thread

You can skip the tutorial. Besides, all the tutorial involves is going to each of the different stations and seeing what they do, plus the videos. All of them are skippable.

I was able to join my friend and start a mission as he was in the process of figuring out how to skip them. The fact that you all immediately gave up says more about you then the game.

Apparently you needed a tutorial on how to press the skip button.

I too was irritated by this but when I saw you could just skip through the video I thought it was fine. Also it is a video you can watch and not a forced tutorial mission that you have to play like in many other games. I can't off hand think of a more effective implementation of a tutorial.

Im currently at 4 achievements left to get and im saving the watch tutorial for last (atm "i can stop anytime" being locked to host only is also a pain but that's off topic)

being forced to play public matches or having to wait for friends to be in the mode to play is annoying for me

Being forced to play public matches, what? What does that even mean? Are you saying you can't play solo? Because you can.
