An option to say "I've played OMD before" would be nice, I guess, but there are still changes here that would be nice to know about.
Absurd that they would _force_ players to run through a lengthy tutorial.

You can skip the tutorial. Besides, all the tutorial involves is going to each of the different stations and seeing what they do, plus the videos. All of them are skippable.
I was able to join my friend and start a mission as he was in the process of figuring out how to skip them. The fact that you all immediately gave up says more about you then the game.
being forced to play public matches or having to wait for friends to be in the mode to play is annoying for me
Being forced to play public matches, what? What does that even mean? Are you saying you can't play solo? Because you can.
