Do enemy numbers ramp up when you gamble forward or just their stats?

I've just done a quick round on my lunch, enjoying the game straight away, so cosy to be back with my traps. I did feel like the amount of enemies was quite average though. Does anyone know if the gambling forward increases the enemy density?

I do believe so, gamble forward increases difficulty while letting you keep the current threads you have so that you can earn more rewards. Having more players also seems to have the same effect, I've noticed that waves have more density when in a four player team compared to when I play alone.

I don't think it increases density, it feels like it only increases health.
