Feel cheated on iOS original version
The original (non-HD) versions of Dragons Lair 1 & 2 on iOS no longer work since iPhone 6 upwards and I feel cheated having paid full price for both Apps. They now released the HD version for these devices but asking a further £3.99 each! For existing owners of the App, these new releases should be made available as a free update!
Money grabbers are the developers here. Disappointing.

Bad. Have you emailed them?

In the same boat. If you need any backing on this, please let me know.

Another reason I abandoned mobile gaming unless the game is $1, they're disposable experiences to me since developers usually won't update them after a year and are usually removed in about 2. Lots of great games have been removed instead of being updated when they stop working. Re-releasing and asking for more money though is even worse than just deleting them IMO.

Something similar happened to me with Monster Hunter. Capcom had an awesome IOS game, but as soon as I updated to the newest IOS it was no longer compatible and the devs have no interest in making it work. It was like a $20 game X_x

Hey everyone,

The following versions are the only ones that are regularly updated and compatible with iOS 9.
It's likely you were running an older out of date version previously sold by Electronic Arts.
Digital Leisure is simply the developer of the product and not the seller via the AppStore.

Dragon's Lair: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragons-lair-30th-anniversary/id688402750?ls=1&mt=8
Space Ace: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/space-ace/id314133588?mt=8
Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragons-lair-2-time-warp/id807479692?mt=8

Other versions previously released by EA are no longer for sale or supported.

Apologies for the confusion.

Hey there, thank you very much for getting back to us on this matter.

It's great to see that these games that we enjoy are available for our portable devices, but we've already paid for these apps. We would have to pay twice: which isn't fair to your customer. Is it possible you could look into a coupon/proof of purchase of the previous EA versions so that we're not charged twice?

Not speaking for everyone, but I would compromise for at minimum %65 off (half price + sales tax here in NS, Canada) coupon for the new versions. Yet, it would look better for Digital Leisure to allow customers who bough the game originally through EA to obtain a new working version. We can provide you with proof of purchase via Apple store.

If you could get back to us on this matter, it would be greatly apriciated. Again, thank you for taking the time to let us know about the newer versions.

The issue is that Digital Leisure is not the seller of the App on iOS. We simply developed the game for Dragon's Lair LLC which are the master rights holders for the games. The agreement was between EA and Dragon's Lair LLC. A new application was created with better features and new video - it will also be updated should there be any issues in future iOS releases.

still disappointed with the result of it all. Appreciate your responses but it doesn't do my trust in purchasing these games any good. i'll be more selective in making purchases in future.

yes, I did email them but all they said were it was no longer under control of EA. Argghh.

I spoke to Apple regarding this issue and they suggested asking the developers for an exception. DigitalLeisure, will you offer an exception in this case?

Sounds like you guys should be bothering EA for a refund so you can buy the new version instead of asking for freebees from the new publisher that has nothing to do with the older versions you bought....
