Stuck, cat chase scene isn't working

is anyone else having this problem?? I will go to hold the button it's asking for but the cat immediately catches me no matter what I do, I've restarted my computer, the level, tried using an Xbox controller instead, nothing is working. Help plz

I figured it out, if you're seeing this you have to go backwards at the same time

I believe you have to "run" which means holding the run button and a direction.

Yep, it's because of the camera is looking in front of you, that's why “W” isn't working this time

i want to love this game so bad, and i do but this is objectively a poor design choice.
