hakumen, jin and koko are all S tier imo and one of my favs noel the gunslinger is fun to bounce around on. haven't played hibiki or taokaka yet.
For your second character, I suggest Jin or Hakumen. Jin use ice to slow or freeze ennemies, very useful when learning the game.
And Hakumen gameplay revolve around counter. It is slower than any other character, but I think it's a great choice to learn Bosses patterns.
Have fun!
When Es dodge, she creates Crests at the dodge location to inflict more damages and speed up the SP Skill usage. (Es's SP regeneration each time your Crests do damages).
You can definitely use Es! (she's my favorite =D)
edit:
Allisee: Yes, it's a spin off, out of the Blazblue mainline. The story of Blazblue is all over the place anyway, so don't mind it.
Play Es. Not only she's beautiful, but her gameplay is as cool as it comes
It's not a metroidvania. You fight mobs, try to not get hit much, gather randomized rewards on your way and beat bosses.
I see. I will start with Es and then, as a second character I will pick up Jin since his gameplay also looked cool.
Just unlock the hold Y Skill and Down Y skill . The skills say they use 60% & 90% of your current health respectively (which they do), but they regenerate all your health after .
Since his damage boost when he's low on health, he'll give you big damage easily. You can one-shot bosses with him if built correctly.
then why it's tagged metroidvania
Because most people don't make the difference between "Roguelike" and "Metroidvania" those days. (and tags are selected by users)
To be fair, the last part of the game plays like a metroidvania, but it's fairly short.
This is a Roguelike through and through.
That kind of monetization makes me really wary.
