There's no way to practice this guy's attacks, either. Because he's the end boss. You only see him at the end of a run. There's already enough tension in that situation without him dealing absolutely bonkers amounts of damage and having goofy hitboxes. I think *one* of those things has to give, if not both.
I can't believe people are asking for buffs to him. What kind of characters with tiny stick hitboxes are you all using to fight him?
He isnt that hard are you on advanced Training ? The First Couple Times i lost AS Well To him He already got buffed the Thread OS before He got His buffs on normal ITS possible to trade with him If you get there with 3 healing potions i think the biggest issue with him ATM isnthe visual clarity of the Fight
S-tier characters can easily handle him while others have to have the right build to stand a chance.
I for one don't want Hakumen or Kokoneo to be nerf for the sake of the others.
Its way Too early for a Tier list And while yes some.charcters have a easier time than Others on normal i feel Like even the build doesnt Matter that much, as i stated before He already was buffed, No. Need for anothr one i dont know.if you played.him.before the Buffs but they we're needed i dont think anyone ist asking for more Buffs atm
This would be a really good adjustment!
Spacing for the pillars is something you can learn. The only time I ever get hit by them is if I'm dashing with Kokonoe and can't stop myself. You have to be very fast, but they're consistent. You first need to move far enough from the landing explosion, then you need to stop moving. If you keep running, your character will do a sliding stop and you'll walk into a pillar. You have to be completely stopped when the pillar hits. It helps to be in the air and dash as he's landing, so you can immediately stop and fall to the ground without momentum.
His combo attack is a pain. It's fast, has huge range and has a hit box above him as well, so you can literally dash and jump away from him and he can still get you. He only does this attack if you attack him when he has his green shield up. So basically, don't attack him when he's shielding. If you still do, you can dodge through him with proper timing to avoid the combo attack. What makes this attack a pain in general is having stuff like lightning orbs or Lambda's blade portal attack him from range, which will trigger it unexpectedly.
If you get hit by the combo attack, the long combo is unavoidable, but at the end he will stun you and charge up a big sword. You can mash the analog stick to break free of the stun and avoid it, but you really need to mash.
For the green flames, you can destroy some of them to shorten his projectile attack when he sucks them in. But generally, you never want to be between Susanoo and a flame, or he'll pull you in and combo you with a fireball barrage. So stay far away from him when they're up. Just double jump and dash over the flames when he fires them at you.
When he turns the flames into a shield, you can keep your distance for a bit, but you need to dash through the flames and walk right next to Susanoo to avoid getting hit. You can hit him as well, but keep in mind your attacks' momentum will carry you forward, so be careful you don't go forward into the flames.
When transitioning to Phase 2, he does an attack where he fires 2 giant lasers to the sides of him. You have to dodge when the attack hits, as there's no other way to avoid it. It's also super effects heavy, so you will probably freak out when he does it. This is normal. Until they tone down the effects lol.
For Phase 2, the main thing to do is dodge the falling vajra lanterns. They explode in an AoE and you will get hit by them all the time because their timing and frequency is brutal. It's not uncommon to spawn in Phase 2 and immediately get hit by a lantern. This is blatantly unfair, but that's how it is. The key mechanic here is to destroy a landed lantern when Susanoo is near one. It will stun him and allow you to get a few hits in. Keep in mind stuff like lightning orbs and Lambda's blade portal also destroy the lanterns, making the fight a pain if you have those abilities.
Susanoo doesn't do the green flames attack anymore, is shrouded in darkness and has a new attack where he charges up and dashes across the entire screen, hitting you multiple times. He still has his shield and combo attack, his jump attack with the pillars, and also an attack where he stuns you and blasts you with a huge energy pillar for massive damage. I'm still figuring out how that attack even works. He quickly appears from the darkness, charges up a shockwave then does the combo I think.
I just beat Susanoo on Advance Mode(unlocks after you beat the game) where he's even harder, and I still don't understand completely how he works because of low visibility. They also put tons of hard mechanics in the normal mode fight, so Advance Mode he only gains 1 extra attack. Feels off.
Good thing is, once you beat Susanoo you can pretty easily beat Advance Mode as none of the other bosses are as hard as he is. Except Oread, she's a nightmare if you don't have multiple dashes.
The combo to catch your aerial is a different combo, though it has a similar ending flow, it isn't 1-1 interchangable
He can perform the combo if you dash through him when his shield is up, even if you don't hit him, he performs the antiair version if you jump over him with his guard up
The transition to phase 2's big attack can be double jumped over if you time it right, preserving your dodge to avoid the first lantern
In phase 2 he gains two command grabs which are both lunging in nature, one will hit twice (once for the grab and once for the wall) the other is a chain grab from what I hear, though I've never gotten hit by that one, he'll usually perform them from the corners and charge across the floor corner to corner
lmao, Jesus. What a boss. All these complex interactions that you get punished for immediately, and which you often have no idea how they even happened. Thanks for the explanation, particularly about dashing through him when he's guarding. I had no idea.
Is the chain grab the one where he basically just teleports to you and deals 200 damage? I have no idea how that attack even starts, it's just him suddenly teleport-striking me out of nowhere.
