New YNAB is out... could we YNAB 4 owners get a discount?

The new YNAB is out so could we YNAB 4 users get a discount? I know the people who bought over at YNAB official site could get some form of discount but how about we STEAMers? Any love for us?

Replace "syncing" with storing and "the cloud" with someone else's computer. Then read that statement, and see if it's ok then. I like cloud computing, but only for certain things.

I hope you realize that Dropbox stores all your information right? Nothing has changed except the new YNAB is actually slightly safer because it removes another authentication chain between Dropbox and YNAB 4.

If security is what you're concerned about, then you can read the security section on YNAB. It's pretty much bulletproof to physical hacking because of the following reasons: forced HTTPS, encryption at rest, only 6 people have access in the world, and hashed passwords. The most likely scenario of your account being compromised is someone looking from behind or having a weak password.

Social engineering is and always has been the weakest link in the chain.

I got the discount apparently so I'm waiting for the trial to be over. I hope they finish YNAB 4 sync and the desktop app by then so I won't hesitate to upgrade. It's been great so far but a bit overpriced. I'm just buying on faith they would update more often.

@IcePop4wHO- you're assuming that I'm using dropbox to store my backups. You choose to store your cloud sync budget where you will. And I choose to use my own backup scheme on my own server.

Please excuse my assumption. You truly are an individual with a solution that most of us do not utilize, so I see how the sync feature is irrelevant.

how you can adjust your own server in YNAB4? Can you explain us, cause i can't see any options there to choose an own server instead of dropbox.

ok, thanks, i thought you knew a way for full synology support also for YNAB classic app, or maybe editing YNAB config file, idk.

I contacted YNAB support by e-mail about this and they said since I bought it through Steam, I would be eligble for the lifetime discount and the free time I just have to provide them proof of my purchase through steam, which I am about to do, so drop them an e-mail :)

Still they should have done a Steam version.
If they REALLY want to get into a subscriptions system, Steam allow that.

They can use Steam infrascructure WITHOUT forcing the use of Steam once installed.
Several software does that and still sell their own on their own store too and all works fine.
