A few questions about future updates
So i played the demo as much as i could and watched videos on the game, etc. I'm very interested in getting the game soon, but i do have a few questions.

First of all, out of curiosity, how much of the game is done? Is it close to being finished or is it still missing a lot of content?

In regards to families, how will this work? Is it gonna be like Stardew Valley where you get married and get children that never grow up? Or will they become adults? Maybe generational play?

Also, are we ever going to be able to breed horses? Given that we can breed all other animals, it would be nice to breed horses too, and sell them for money.

Looking forward to seeing more of this game's development!

It would appear the tutorial and first main Quest, along with side quests to get to know town people is an introduction to the game. There is a bunch of "locked zones", which I would assume will lead to future Quests and areas, perhaps even more maps.
The crafting and resourcing, building and tools mechanics are all there.
Monster and combat mechanics are being balanced.
I feel there will be TONS more to come over time, I can not wait.

So in essence; Demo is all there is-ish in term of non-sandbox content, so quest/story/zones = future additions 'maybe (there's never a gurantee for these things)'?

I was there in the beginning for astroneer and it was a great experience. Playtesters are not normal gamers. As for future content, nothing i certain in anything, life for now.
I do know the more engagement and interaction with fans, the better a product becomes, so I prefer to not put my chips on the glass half empty on anything.

Astroneer released in early access this game did not. That makes a huge difference. Early access is the implicit promise of future development, and that it is an incomplete product. An full release (this game) is an implicit promise that the game is feature complete and finished, but there may be future content (at the discretion of the dev).

Based on what you're saying (and considering you're using an previous early access title as comparison), it seems right to assume that the game is not feature complete, and quests/missions, Story and zones are available (on map), but in-accessible until futher development adds it.

This would be acceptible for an Early Access title, it is not for a full release. I for one, have no intention of buying an Early Access title and would've prefered if the devs actually properly marked it as such. I'm glad I didn't buy it at release when they dind't have keybinds, and instead decided to wait until they implemted that, as I'd have been severily disgruntled to find out, it's an Early Access title camouflaged as a full release.
Yeah i agree this should have released as Early Access, it needs work!

Omg i didn't even notice the game wasn't an EA title... I just assumed it was since content is missing. 😂

Yeah well thy intentionally did that to sell more or something?!

Devs anything to add?

Our argument then was this is trash and we will get behind better content when it is released, but the tech community explained, if we do not get behind what is there, there likely won't be more.

you know why Ubisoft pushes ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unoptimized buggy releases? Because of this mentality. When you accept devs ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in your salad, they remove the salad and start serving you ♥♥♥♥.

We saw the same ♥♥♥♥ with Bethesda's Battlespire (yeah, I'm not a tourist), complacency and assumptions that people will just buy whatever ♥♥♥♥ they serve, not caring for what people actually want.

It's fine to release unfinished games. However I expect the curtecy of being told so directly, rather than have to find out after-the-fact. I wanted to know if this game is in a finished state or not. As pr your own statements, the game is not, and should be considered early access.

A.k.a; your own words are: only buy this game, if you want to make an (no-profit return) "investment" into the project. I for one, have gotten burned enough times in my life from unfinished games with lots of promise (including, and especially in the 90's).

Make it make sense.

They're asking for my money. I expect a finnished fully featured product, for my money. I'm willing to give my money when/if the project is finished, and not before. if the game was given out for free, it'd be fine, if the game was labeled as "in-development (which on steam is 'early access*9, it'd be fine. They didn't, they released it as a finnished product, and as such, it's right to expect a finnished one, and feel disgruntled if it isn't.

I didn't buy the game as it lacked core-features I expect on release, now I am learning it's not just these core features that were missign, but a lot more.

Go find something better to do, your book you wrote above only proves how self absorbed and ignorant some people can be when they do not create anything themself.
I do not care about your lack of ability to read, when i purchased the game, it was very clear to me this was not a finished project-- your user error is not my problem.
Self righteous gamers, who cry about unimportant stuff is.
If the money for this game broke you, maybe get a better set of skills, so you can have a job where spending 20$ doesn't throw you into a rage.
Nothing you said validated anything other than you are young, and not a creator.
Pot calling the kettle black, and you clearly are projecting your inability to read.

I didn't buy the game, I was looking for information to make an informed decision on wether or not to buy it, and you convinced me the game isn't worth it.

People that make statements like these tend to be either young, or never coded in their life and thus put programmers/developers on a pedestal.

Eitherway, it doesn't matter what ones experience is when it comes to purchase something. I hope you never complain when you eat something that taste like ♥♥♥♥, because you're clearly not a professional chef, thus, you have no right to complain when you're served ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ instead of a steak.

I played almost 30 hours of the game, never notice there was missing content, i dont know what you guys are talking about really, i farmed, explored, killed and did a lot of quests, got to the end and finished the main story.

Are these missing contents you guys are talking about just new things the devs will add, or are they promises they made before release that were scrapped?

If they promise something and didnt deliver at launch its not okay, lets just hope they improve the game and keep working on it, it should be criticized, its not a good practice and it shouldnt be normalized, but they can fix it and recover some trust from the community, if thats the case.
