how do you get more food recipes

the description of ginseng for example says that you can eat it raw or boil it, but i don't have a recipe for doing so

I found a couple recipes at the inn in the town south of the farm, the hag tavern place did not sell any, I also found some fish recipes at the inn on the east coast.

The east coast tavern is on the dock where you first arrived. when you follow the road east beware of bears and wolves I just kept running past them and did not stop.

there is also a guy standing near the edge of the docks who asks you to catch fish for him of 3 different types and when you complete the quest he gives you a lobster recipe.

there is also someone wandering around the first town who ask for 3 foraging ingredients in the forest and the quest reward is a wellness potion that gives 10 health, stamina, and food.

every merchant you find, check them, they may have recipes, not only for cooking but also smithing

The fishing rod is sold in the farm right north to the village near our farm if I remember correctly. (the farm that sells crops and also where you're rewarded with your first set of tools)

It is sold from Kimberly who sells you the seeds in the intro. It is more like a fishing spear then a rod.
