And, I'll admit...I'm addicted to the feature that allows you to tell which monitor you want a program to start on (I know ultramon did it, but I never started using that feature until I got DF at work).
When I was first looking for this software, I was also looking at programs such as Ultramon, but ultimately decided on Display Fusion since it seemed to have more development activity, a cleaner interface, and more features.
Of course, if you're just looking to have different backgrounds on each monitor, then this is probably not the type of software you should be looking into. However in my situation, I've gotten a lot of use out of the multi monitor taskbars, custom taskbar buttons, keyboard shortcuts for window management, window snapping, and desktop icon profiles. The support is also very responsive and helpful whenever I had any questions. If you are a power user that will make use of the key features of the software, then it's definitely worth the price tag. I can easily say that in my 2+ years of using Display Fusion, I haven't had any buyer's remorse.
Why I see that it's only the "free" version of your software that has limited features? What I mean is that I know why "free" software would be limited, but according to the page you list, all the other versions have everything supported, there is no difference between
Pro standard,
Pro licensed
Pro enterprise
etc., they all show green check mark for every feature listed, only the free version shows the red x button for most of the features.
All other versions have every item listed with a green checkmark so which to buy? The least expensive I think?
Displayfusion takes forever to start and a long time to show up when opening the settings/switching between settings screens. Takes a long time to apply anything in general, too (ie, switching wallpaper sets - you hit the hotkey and it sits around for 3-5 seconds doing nothing, then finally after you've hit the key again thinking it didn't work, it changes, then changes again).
PS: I'm using a Vertex 4 SSD as my OS drive and Displayfusion installed to that drive. It's not HDD based slowness. It's bad code.
I've been using UltraMon for year (since it came out) and bought it right away since Windows was kind of sloppy when i came to multiple monitor management.
Sofar i've been pleased with UltraMon it does what i want it to and it's light on resources (not that it matters much now).
I have 4 Monitors attached now (1 for music/watching cpu/gpu temps/Mem load etc.
Rest for VM's/Browsing and stuff.
Does this program require an active internet connection on the machines it'se used on?
No. It requires an Internet connection to install it via Steam, after that it doesn't need the Steam client at all.
