DisplayFusion

How do I display a running app on BOTH monitors on startup?
I have 2 monitors and want certain apps to be displayed on simultaneously on both monitors when launched. I've been down this road before several years ago and had it working. Now, probably 5 or 6 years later, I only see an option to pick ONE monitor. The choice to have it displayed on both monitors appears to be missing now. Or am I going senile?

How can I achieve this? Thanks.

Currently on Windows 10.

To clarify, are you wanting it to span the two monitors, or are you looking to have a duplicate window of the application on the second monitor?

I want the app to display on both windows separately (though the application would be running as the same instance). In this case, Voice Attack and Windows Photo Viewer though sometimes other apps as well. Thanks!

I'm not the developer, but it's sounding like you want something like the two monitors swapping between "extend the desktop" mode and "mirror the desktop" mode based on whether they're running this specific program. Do I have that right?

I'm thinking he means to have the taskbar button for the app show up on the taskbar on both monitors, is that correct?

Kind of. When I am playing a game (which I usually open via a Rocketdock shortcut on my first monitor), I would also like the see Rocketdock on my second screen as well, while still running on the first screen so I can mouse over to the second monitor to interact with it. The same goes for other apps I often run alongside my games.

So a nice tweak to DisplayFusion would be to have an option to display a running app on both screens as soon as you start the app, instead of just one monitor of your choice. The way Displayfusion works now I would have to duplicate my whole screen on the second monitor, Obviously, I don't want my second monitor cluttered with stuff Ithat has no relevance to what I am currently doing.

Ah ok, so you want to be able to duplicate just RocketDock on the second monitor?

Just using that as an example. Obviously just ONE instance of a running app but make it always display on both monitors at the same time. Saves a LOT of headache. Thanks.

Right, yeah. Unfortunately I don't think this would be possible. We have a function that can mirror the window to a new window that you can put on another monitor, but it can't pass mouse-clicks through to the source application. If we're able to allow it to pass mouse-clicks through in the future, we'll definitely let you know so you can try it out.

Thanks!

I supposed I can duplicate monitors but make it so applications such as full screen games only display on my primary monitor. Thanks for looking into this. I haven't used Displayfusion in a couple of years so lost of track of how it all works.

No worries. I don't believe you can clone monitors but still show games only on one of them, unless you disable the second monitor before you launch the game.
