Display fusion is causing screen tearing when using multiple monitors AMD R9 380
This has been an issue now for atleast a couple of weeks, though I think I isolated it tonight down to display fusion/AMD driver combination. I don't think it's actually tearing, it doesn't look like tearing, but I don't know what else to call it.. tons of line artifacts when something is moving on either screen.

A week or two ago I came home to an off computer.. unusual. I rebooted it to find the above described effect. That night I did some research and found someone with my card describing issues that sounded similiar and mentioned that the new drivers may be an issue and they had success with the beta drivers, tried it and it was solved for a day or two..

Next I tried uninstalling the AMD drivers altogether.. smooth sailing for days of use... but not ideal, the MS drivers are almost 2 years old but it worked fine until I decided to try the AMD drivers yet again, same problem. Next I reduced the screens to one. Problem goes away, return to two screens problem returns.. I uninstalled Display Fusion and again smooth sailing..

My setup includes,
Video: Asus R9 380 4GB
Dvi Monitor and HDTV (HDMI) + streaming to a steam link
Windows 10
Current AMD Driver - Packaging Version 16.50.2011-161223a-310011C
Also had issues with v 17.2.1

Unfortunately no logs to share but I will reload the program to try to gather some. I've been a fan for over a year now, so I'm keen to be using it again.

P.S. I can't say with any real certainty but it seems as though this only happened after my most recent update of Display Fusion.

Any chance you could capture a video of this happening? I've never seen DisplayFusion cause any sort of tearing or artifacting before, and assuming you're on DisplayFusion 8.1.2, the only thing that changed from the previous version was a fix for one of the online wallpaper providers.

I ran this by the guys here, and one of them mentioned that they had a similar problem with an older AMD card:

"so i had a problem with my old HD5780
the memory was actually clocked way higher than it was supposed to be, and it had that exact same issue
i had to modify my bios file, then load it back into the video card
one monitor, fine. two monitors, crazy business happening on the second monitor"

Not sure if it would be the same issue with yours, but the behaviour that you're describing does sound very much like a hardware issue.

*Edit:* Did a quick search and found this link too: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1996290/280x-artifacts-flickers-problems.html. Maybe your card has a BIOS update that could help the issue?

*Edit:* Here's a long reddit thread I found from people mentioning the same issue, with various possible solutions: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1f87g2/psa_something_i_learned_about_dual_monitor_set/

Thanks for looking into this.

Though I forgot to mention it I did update the firmware to the most current version as my first step, even before trying other drivers but the probloem persisted. I should also note that I never use dual monitors while gaming, (that's actually why I love your product so much, hotkey screen management to switch from work, to school to gaming as my needs change). I've only experienced this under semi light load, (2 monitors running somemtimes a 3rd HDTV being broadcasted to with steamlink and maybe netflix or web browsing) and the artifacts appear on both (or all 3) screens.

Next time it happens I will video it, dunno why I didn't do it last night tbh..

I am using 8.12, and I will follow up with logs and video if it happens again.

Another thing to note, when this problem occurs, display fusion loses its ability to manage my screens, I can access the program and change settings but they do not take effect either by hotkey or using the menu. AMD and windows can still manage them however.

Thanks again, I'll follow up when I can contribute more meaningfully.

I think Im also experiencing these issues. It's kinda like tearing where partial parts of the screen flicker. I just assumed it was be because my gpu is much older running triple monitors.

My setup is Windows 10 64
Xfx hd5670 running three 17 inch 1280x1024

I'll try and get video of it.
