We're investigating this really weird issue right now. Two other players have also reported this. My colleague found a workaround for one of them who had the same issue. It seems maybe somehow you have a corrupted save file if you have this issue. If that's indeed the case, then deleting your save file would fix the issue. What would really help us, is if you could email your save files to me before doing so, so we can investigate the issue and hopefully do a proper hotfix soon. You don't need to email the file to fix the issue on your end, that's just extra to help us fix it. Here's the steps to delete your save file:
1. Right click the game in Steam, go to Properties and then disable Steam Cloud (otherwise Steam will restore the broken save file after you delete it).
2. Go to this folder on your computer: C:/Users/[yourname]/AppData/Local/StationToStation
If you can not see the AppData folder in the file explorer you can also find it by typing %AppData% in your windows search bar
3. If you're willing to send us the files in there, then please email the files to joost@galaxy-grove.com.
4. Delete all the files in the folder.
5. Start the game, play the first level, see whether the next level now unlocks.
6. If you want, you can re-enable Steam Cloud Save once you're done.
What I found out during playing it 3 times is that there are some tutorial popups that don't always trigger which stopped me from continuing. I don't know if there is a check or not that requires the player to see all tutorial popups in order for the tutorial level to be marked as complete in the code.
After completing the level for the 3rd time, I got a stage complete popup saying I can press the button on the bottom right to continue to the next level. I did not see this popup when I completed the level the first two times. Only after seeing this popup did level 2 unlock for me and I was able to continue.
My issue: I "followed" the tutorial for level 1 and completed it. I attempted to go to the next level. On the next screen, I clicked 'next.' Right after that, when the game automatically returned to the map, level 2 remained locked.
The solution: After searching for a solution and trying six times, I finally found one. In level 1, after connecting the three farms and mills, you need to connect one farm and mill with an additional waypoint. I didn't want to build the bridge, so I moved the first waypoint, which turned out to be the problem. Leave the first waypoint where it is and connect it to the station, and then the tutorial will prompt you to add an extra waypoint to remove the bridge. After completing this step, level 2 unlocked.
