Should I play Forgive Me Father 1 first?
Hey, I was just wondering what the general consensus was on if I need to play the first game to understand anything in the second or if it's more of a pick up a gun and shoot everything with not much story.

I really prefer the first one due to it being highly different from the insane amount of throwback shooters that come out nowadays. The second one is more generic and doesn't feel finished yet, like it's still in early access. I still enjoy the second one though, just not as much as the first. And since this is inspired by lovecraftian storytelling, i don't think you need to play the first one first for the story. It's there but it's hard to follow anyway and not that important in terms of a continous narrative i think...

It's not required. In fact, the plot is basically the same in both games. Pretty much everything has been dumbed down in the sequel, presumably because people didn't understand the plot in the original and found it too hard because they never used their abilities.

In other words, yes--the sequel is "more of a pick up a gun and shoot everything with not much story" game.

FMF1 is the game you seek
Sorry to bump, but I didn't want to make a whole new post. Just got FMF2 with the humble bundle. After reading here, I'm getting the feeling that one should play the second title first, then the first one. Is that a good idea?
