Cards - determination (much more HP), Haste (first one, increasing fire rate) and Lifesteal.
For weapons, I used pistol (second pistol), calaber (third shotgun), base rifle (first), and des goules (second exotic).
Expert difficulty.
On last phase it's seems that dodging becomes impossible so just doing as much damage as possible will help to finish boss before the wall kills you.
Dodge with WASD, always hit the "ramps" for health and ammo.
Before the last phase, you might want to let go off W or press S to dodge some patterns.
If you want to beat the boss fast , shoot and aim throughout every wave. You can dodge and shoot at the same time. If you hit every shot and keep shooting you can beat the boss in under a minute.
For the last wave, use your rifle and keep shooting. If you're a good shot, you can also use your pump shotgun or pistol instead.
If reflexes can't carry you, memorize the patterns. It's not a hard boss.
Every weapon in the original FMF was viable. The key was to use your abilities. I never had a problem finishing it and my talent choices back then were far from optimal.
They added the ability to respec whenever as well, which made it even easier.
FMF2's approach of limiting you to redoing your talents between levels is a more rounded compromise.
As far as the boss goes, he slowly drifts away as you deal damage to him. Just focus on hitting the boost ramps while moving forward to keep up while damaging him with a medium damage weapon (like your shotgun). AFAIK, the wall behind you follows him at a fixed distance, so if he moves too far ahead just stop damaging him for a little bit and focus on hitting the ramps.
You'll notice him transition between "phases" when he stops his current pattern and makes a noise. Once he reaches his third phase, just pull out your Eldritch Grasper or whatever your strongest weapon is and blast him while dodging as best as you can.
I've never had a problem with him.
