Understanding my ending (SPOILERS)

I finished Waking Mars and got the ending where a kind of giant pyramidal biosphere grows out of the ground and Liang silently goes hugging Amani. From what I read there are other possible endings but what I'm trying to ascertain is : did I miss any dialog relating to my own ending? I find it odd that, after such a dialog-heavy game, the last few minutes of the game (after activating the switch in The Helm) occur in complete silence.

For reference : I amassed 30+ Core power before even entering the Core, then opened only one pod, decoded the message and activated the switch to the right in the Helm.

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. I think its worth going for the special ending. Its a little strange, but at least there is dialog. :)

So it's normal then? Alternate endings are all well and good, but the 'casual' ending shouldn't feel rushed and out of character like that, I feel.

You have two endings. On the right artifact you awake mars' atmosphere with the big plant and, on the left artifact, a big space ship awakes and get launched with you trapped inside and with the new destiny of travel trough stars with sentients. Both are damn good endings. There is a third ending without awake sentients in which you just return to base, but c'mon, you already knows the game is incomplet at that point.
